FALL PROGRESSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM

(SEPTEMBER 7 - DECEMBER 23, 2010)

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: Teach participants the basics of swimming as well as advanced swimming skills and concepts.  Educate student on techniques of four competitive strokes, starts, turns, relay exchanges, racing strategies, and mental preparation.  Every practice and training set will be conducted with the goal of stroke technique development.  Every participant will receive detail personal attention and is guaranteed in-depth stroke and skill analysis.

FACILITY: Two state of the art comfortably heated pools (min. 81F)

Practice Times / Fall Groups:

Group I:   14 & Up  4-6 PM (required Far Westerns Qualifying Times)

Group II:  11 & Up  4:30-6 PM (must have swim team experience or ability to swim all 4 strokes legally)

Group III:  8 & Up   4:30-5:30 PM or 6-7 PM (must have swim team experience or swim 100 IM)

Intro To Competitive Group: 6-8 Age Group 6-6:45 PM  (Tue, Thr, Fri)  (must be able to swim 25 yards)

2010 Fall Program Swim Meets / Events Schedule

Swim Meets are not mandatory and strictly optional. TVA will use swim meet experience as a tool of stroke and racing skill development.

Sept. 2 – Parent Fall Orientation Meeting at Las Positas Aquatics (6-7 pm)

Sept. 7 – Program Begins

Sept. 23 - Team Picture Day

Oct. 9, 10 – C/B/A+,  Orinda

Oct. 28 C/B/A+ Tri Meet Meet, Las Positas

Nov. 6, 7 – C/B/A+ at Las Positas

Nov. 20, 21 – C/B/A+, Las Positas

Nov. 24, 25, 26 – THANKSGIVING, NO PRACTICE

Dec. 3, 4, 5 – Junior Olympics-Age Group Championships, Pleasanton

Dec. 23 - Last Day of Practice
